Miniatures Regulations for Tournaments within FW
Freak Wars tournaments are organized by interested entities or individuals with the support of the event’s organization. We all want them to run in the best possible way and to enjoy the best possible hobby experience.
To this end, and based on respect and equality, a series of rules have been established that must be followed in all tournaments:
-
Units must be represented by miniatures appropriate to the game system, scale, and lore, always following logic and common sense.
For example: a simple goblin miniature cannot represent a Big Guy; A space marine cannot represent a tank; An action man cannot be a titan; etc...
-
Conversions are allowed using any bits from brands other than the game system itself or hand-sculpted parts. Miniatures from other game systems are also permitted, but they must be easily identifiable at a glance and of a similar scale. If the miniature does not exist for any reason, it will be allowed to use an analogous one that resembles the “original” according to the lore and possible descriptions. Conversions using toy parts that do not belong to the world of miniatures are not permitted.
For example: a unit of Age of Sigmar dwarves could be represented by dwarves from another brand, as long as they keep the same scale; the jump packs of your squad use bits from another brand; the commander of your army has been sculpted by yourself; etc…
-
Scratch-built miniatures are allowed as long as they can be easily identified as the miniature they represent.
-
Paper-printed miniatures or similar representations are not allowed, unless the game itself permits it. Printed proxies may also not be used in tournaments that use card decks. Accessories used in different game systems may come from other brands.
For example: an Underworlds deck must be original; I could use wound counters from another brand as long as they clearly represent wounds; etc...
-
Freak Wars is a family-friendly event, so all miniatures must be age-appropriate and must respect the 13+ rating. In case of doubt, please ask the event organizers.
For example: explicit sexual scenes will not be allowed; etc…
-
Cloned copyrighted miniatures are not allowed; if identified, they will be immediately removed.
-
All these rules may be specified further in the rules of each specific tournament, as those will take precedence.
-
In case of doubt regarding any of these points, please contact the tournament organizer using the email address provided during registration.
-
Participation in the tournaments implies acceptance of these rules.
