2025

Versailles is now history… and Madrid takes the lead!

World Model Expo 2025 BoS Fantasy

The World Model Expo 2025 in Versailles has come to an end. With the echoes of brushes still ringing in our minds and our hearts full of inspiration, it's time to look ahead… and that road leads straight to Madrid 2028!

As organizers of the next World Model Expo, to be held as part of Freak Wars, we return from Versailles filled with excitement, insights, and a great sense of responsibility: to bring you an unforgettable edition. We took good notes — of what stood out and what can be improved. And above all, we felt the heartbeat of a passionate and dedicated community.

We know what a World Expo means. It’s not just another event: it’s the summit of a long journey, the international showcase of our art, and a celebration of everything we share.

That’s why we’ve already started working. The first ideas are on the table, and the engine is warming up. But we want you to be part of it: if you have suggestions, dreams, wild ideas or needs, share them with us on social media. This World Expo is being built by all of us.

See you in Madrid in 2028, where miniatures will make history again!

FREAK WARS TO HOST THE WORLD MODEL EXPO IN 2028!

We did it!
With a mix of excitement, pride, and tons of enthusiasm, we are officially announcing that Freak Wars will host the World Model Expo in 2028.
Yes, you read that right! The most important international event in miniature painting and scale modeling is coming to Madrid, brought to you by Freak Wars.

This news marks a historic milestone for our community, for the Hobby in Spain, and for all of you who have been by our side over the years—helping build, step by step, what started as a small local event… and will, in 2028, gather the very best of the world right here in our city.

Here’s a sneak peek at the provisional logo we’ve prepared for the announcement:

What is the World Model Expo?

The World Model Expo (WME) is the most prestigious international event in the world of artistic modeling and miniature painting. Held every three years, it brings together thousands of artists, creators, brands, and Hobby lovers for a unique experience where talent and creativity know no borders.
After legendary editions in Eindhoven, Stresa, and Chicago… in 2028, the heart of the modeling world will beat in Madrid!

Why is this so special?

Because it’s a dream come true. Because it’s a recognition of the collective effort of a passionate and ever-growing community. And because Freak Wars has always been an event made with heart, by and for fans of the Hobby.
The World Model Expo 2028 will be an international gathering, a showcase of talent, and a huge celebration of the universe we all love: brushes, resin, dice, rules, dioramas… and boundless imagination.

A heartfelt thank you to our community

To everyone who comes year after year, to those who chat in the hallways, who teach, learn, play, organize, create, support, and believe—
This is yours. This is ours. This is Freak Wars.

We have an exciting road ahead to 2028…
And we’ll enjoy it together, as always!
