We are pleased to present Freak Painting Wars 2024. We are sure you will enjoy the contest and we would be delighted if you could be part of the event.
We have prepared a quick summary with the most relevant information, but remember to read the full details of the contest in the legal bases.
- DATE: 7 and 8 September 2024
- MAXIMUM NUMBER OF WORKS: 8
- DEADLINE FOR ONLINE REGISTRATION: To avoid delays in the delivery of the works and an increase in the registration fee, we recommend that participants register to the contest and their works online before 23 August at 23:59 (GMT+2) through this website.
- REGISTRATION OF WORKS: You must access this year's Emperor web application and create an account with the same email address you used to register for the contest on the Freak Wars web.
- DEADLINE FOR DELIVERY OF WORKS: Saturday 7 September before 13h (GMT+2)
- SCHEDULE FOR COLLECTION OF WORKS: Sunday 8 September from the end of the awards ceremony until 16:00h (GMT+2)
- AWARD CEREMONY DATE: Sunday 8 September at 13:00h (GMT+2) on the Freak Wars main stage
- PRICE:
Online registration: 12€ per participant (not per work submitted)
On-site registration: 20€ per participant (not per work submitted)
For each registration, 1€ will be donated to charity.
Remember that you must have a ticket for both days of the event, as the delivery of works is on Saturday and the collection of works on Sunday. - JURY:

Remember that you also have to register the works that you want to bring to the contest in the Emperor web app of this year. To do this you must access this link and CREATE AN ACCOUNT WITH THE SAME EMAIL YOU ARE LOGGED IN THIS WEB:

Once the works are registered, you can modify them until August 23 at 23:59 (GMT+2). After that period, any modification will have to be made at the event, paying the difference with the physical registration price.

AWARDS CEREMONY
The awards ceremony will take place on Sunday 8 September at 13:00h (GMT+2) on the Freak Wars main stage. The organisers reserve the right to change this schedule if necessary.
MASTER DIVISION - ALL CATEGORIES EXCEPT DISPLAY
- The prizes will have an "Open" format: As many gold, silver and bronze as the jury considers will be awarded, there may be several prizes of each type.
- Badges will be awarded for the gold, silver and bronze prizes.
MASTER DIVISION - DISPLAY CATEGORY
- A set of one or more pieces representing an artist.
- The "Display" category will have a "Podium" format, consisting of a Venerable Dragon Trophy for each Gold, Silver and Bronze award.
- The overall winner of this category will receive a 1000€ check by bank transfer. This prize is exclusive.
SPECIAL CATEGORIES
- Hera Models special category: A special brand prize will be awarded by the brand. The winning work will be chosen by a Hera Models manager from among all Hera Models figures.
- Beyond Miniatures special category: A special brand prize will be awarded by the brand. The winning work will be chosen by a Beyond Miniatures manager from among all Beyond Miniatures figures.
- JModels special category: A special brand prize will be awarded by the brand. The winning work will be chosen by a JModels manager from among all JModels figures.
- 3DeRatops Studio special category: A special brand prize will be awarded by the brand. The winning work will be chosen by a 3DRatops Studio manager from among all 3DRatops Studio figures.
- In Motion Creations special category: A special brand prize will be awarded by the brand. The winning work will be chosen by a In Motion Creations manager from among all In Motion Creations figures.
- Drakae special category: A special brand prize will be awarded by the brand. The winning work will be chosen by a Drakae manager from among all Drakae figures.
- Hex Figures special category: A special brand prize will be awarded by the brand. The winning work will be chosen by a Hex Figures manager from among all Hex Figures figures.
- Miniature Art Academy special category: A special brand prize will be awarded by the brand. The winning work will be chosen by a Miniature Art Academy manager from all figures.
BEST OF SHOW (BoS)
- The best work (individual work) will be chosen among the works of ALL the contests, this one included.
- Possibility of being part of the jury the following year.
- Platinum Venerable Dragon Trophy and a €250 check by bank transfer.
RAFFLE
In addition, for all participants, both standard and master, who register online, there will raffles of products and/or shop vouchers from different brands that collaborate with Freak Wars in the days prior to the event on social media.
The raffles will be carried out by the organisation a few days before the event via Instagram to avoid waiting during the awards ceremony, as we already have a list of winners who can collect their prizes during the event.
A single participant may not receive more than one prize. Each eligible participant enters only one entry in the raffle, regardless of the number of works submitted.
